Ok, so I guess it will feel better to just put it out in the open: I am not on the ball the 2nd time around. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Trevi's updates can and will be blamed on the 2nd child syndrome. (man, I can't imagine how awful I'll be with the 3rd little one!) I always told myself I would make it a priority to write down and document just as many milestones of Trevi's and I did with Navi. I am failing. Consider my hands slapped. From here forward I will try and do better. (cleansing breath...)
At 8 months Trevi's:
Preferred method of transportation: rolling all over. She was quite the stinker and almost made me believe she wasn't going to roll at all! She began really going for it around 7 months. Although, Big Sister was crawling at this point, so it's interesting to see the difference between the two. (another slap on the hands - I have told myself it is pointless to compare them, but it's kind of hard not to, when I only have one example to go off of) I think more than anything Trevi just has her dad's personality. Chill and relaxed. She was born on his birthday after all! She seems perfectly content to sit back and watch her crazy sister entertain us all. :)
Preferred food: bottles. What can I say, this girl likes to eat! Although she likes baby food and eats pretty much all flavors, (Except peas, she gags at the sight of peas. But who can blame her? Have you SMELLED those things?! Barf!) Nothing excites our little chunker more than the sight of her baba. (Although Navi making her laugh is right up there) And more than one old lady at the grocery store has commented on her chubs. My favorite thus far, "Well. she doesn't miss a meal, does she?" Seriously Old Lady? Even my sister has lovingly nick-named her Heavy Trevi. And yes, I am slightly concerned the poor little girl will grow up with a complex...funny thing is, I don't think she's any chubbier than Navi was. Maybe just a bit rounder in the cheeks.
Preferred person: Mommy. YAY! Don't get me wrong, she is all smiles when Daddy comes home, or when Navi is making her giggle - which is quite often. - but she definitely notices when I leave the room. And my favorite moment with her so far was when we came to pick her up from my aunt who was babysitting, and she turned her head when we walked in the door and her face lit up and she started kicking and bouncing. So presh. She cuddles so much more than Navi ever did and I LOVE it.
Preferred routine: Wakes up around 8:30-9:00, drinks a bottle and eats some baby food, bath time, plays with Sister and mom, nap around 11:00-12:00 which usually lasts around 4 hours (!) yes, I said 4, more food, playing and laughing, excited when Dad gets home, night time feeding, goes to bed around 9:30 and sleeps THE WHOLE NIGHT. I'm still in awe and it's been going on 6 months. She is seriously the best little baby. I don't know how I got so lucky. However, I'm also pretty sure Heavenly Father knew I couldn't handle anymore sass or attitude from Trevi with Miss Navi around.
Other favorites: TJ loves Aunt Booie and they like to have naps together. As mentioned before, she LOVES Navi and I absolutely adore the moments they spend playing together. Navi is still a bit confused on how to refer to Trevi though, and I oftern hear, "He is laughing! Him is so cute!" (or something similar) We're working on "her" and "she". Trevi loves her bouncer and will jump and jump and jump. She says, "Da da da" no matter how much I try to persuade her otherwise. She will wave on occasion when I say "hi" but of course won't do it on cue, so no one believes me. She also has her two bottom teeth. Kind of slow to get either (around 7.5 months) but once the first one popped through, it only took the 2nd a couple days to peek through as well.
I can't say enough how much we love our Trevi Girl. It was fun to see Navi hit so many milestones so early and get big so fast. But now that I know just how fast babies grow up, I'm kind of glad that Trevi is my content little sweetheart. She is my cuddle bug and quiet child. What a blessing she has been to our family. I feel like her first year is flying by and so I'm trying to savor every second.
These were supposed to be her 6 month pics but they were actually a bit closer to 7...yep, I'm awesome.
Pretty little thing!

Ditching Diapers
- or at least half of them. Hooray!
Before Navi turned 2 she started "knowing" when she was going to go potty. I thought, "Sweet! This will be easy to potty train her since she can already tell when she is going to go." WRONG. Have you met my daughter? The sass and stubbornness didn't fall far from the tree. (AKA me) My bad! Since the middle of the summer...ish...I slowly began to introduce panties and the idea of going on the potty to Navi. I bought awesome Ariel underwear, a Dora potty seat and really tried to emphasize how fun it was to use the potty. Did I fool her? Nope. She all but screamed bloody-murder when I even attempted to put on her on the toilet. And sometimes did. Months went by and finally I knew it was time to buckle down. (or if you're Craig Bolerjack, "buckle up") Thanks to a little advice from friend, (who BTW potty-trained 2 girlies) I was going to do it. Keyword = I. I came to realize I needed to get just as serious about the potty as Navi.
So,
I gathered a collection of miscellaneous dollar store toys and the ultimate prize [The Lion King] and made a pretty sweet sticker chart. (if I do say so myself) Getting the first couple rows completed was tough, I won't lie. But once the ball started rolling, Navi did great. Then just like all the stories you hear, one day it just clicked. We haven't looked back since!
The finished product:
(for some reason it flips in the uploading process and I can't figure out why!)
And the coveted prize:
Then we celebrated with cousins and her cute friend Alexa when she made it to "Lion Show". We had a Potty Party and watched the movie with popcorn and treats. (courtesy of Halloween)
Buying diapers for one has been nothing short of awesome. All hail the porcelain throne! ...or in this case a pink plastic Dora seat and a couple of Ikea mini potties. (upstairs and down)

Month of Pumpkins and Candy
I'm behind as usual, but not yet a month behind, so that's an improvement. We had lots of fun during October and were grateful for some beautiful fall weather. One of my favorite Cache Valley traditions is going to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. It holds a special place in my heart because I grew up in North Logan and have helped put together a few scenes over the years. It's so fun to be sharing the tradition with my own family now.

Family Pics - oh yes, again
Welp, it's fall. And that means I had a craving for family pictures. But when one has a fabulous friend who happens to be a fabulous photographer, it's quite tempting! Thanks so much Nicole Leavitt Photography!
I haven't got the full disc yet, but check out Nicole's blog to see our sneek peek:

Father's Fiftieth!
My rad dad turned the big 5-0 on October 5. I decided it was high time to embarrass him for once, (he's infamous for doing this to others) so with the help of LOTS of awesome friends and family members, we were able to surprise him.
First off, we had to get him to a location without him suspecting anything...not an easy task. Since he's the custodian at a school, I decided the easiest plan would be to have his principal call him and tell him there was a water leak in the lunchroom (where the party was at) and he needed to get there ASAP! It was a Friday night, and my dad is also known for not always jumping right to things if it involves the school. (let's be honest, female teachers have a tendency to exaggerate problems that he NEEDS to fix) He does it, but more so on his own schedule...I was NERVOUS to say the least. Mainly because I had a room full of 50+ people waiting on him! Thankfully, Susan, his GF :), had a very smooth plan and told him they were going to dinner at 6 (party time) and on the way out the door, he got the frantic phone call and she urged him to fix the problem before they went to eat. And well....SURPRISE!!!
The party was a big success and I finally remembered to take some pictures towards the end. Like I said, I was a nervous wreck the whole time, but by the end my hands stopped shaking and I could breathe normally again. :)

| The 50 wall. I put up pictures all throughout his life and along with my siblings (and a few from my girls), we wrote "fifty fun facts about the old fart" |
FIFTY
FUN
FACTS
ABOUT THE OLD
FART:
He was born
He is the 2nd youngest of 9 children
He has 6 sisters and 2 brothers
He was born in Montpelier , ID
He always gives me cheese puffs and cookies
-Navi
He calls me “Chunky Cheese”
-Trevi
He is the best “Lampa” around.
He is the one I run to when Allie or Cade is chasing me
-Navi
He has only babysat me one time...when Mommy was desperate.
-Navi
He would never say no when I wanted to watch “The Little Mermaid” or “Beauty and the Beast”
-Laci
He wears his Santa pajama pants all year long.
- Laci
He taught me to like macaroni and cheese with pork and beans.
-Laci
He is the hardest worker I know.
He would wake me up for school by belly flopping on my bed and send me flying.
-Laci
He is always willing to help whenever I ask.
He let me think he made up the “Band-Aide” song when I was little. Then when I heard my cousin singing it, I said, “Hey! My dad made that up!”
He snores louder than anyone you’ve ever heard. Really.
-Laci
He shared his love of all things Christmas with me
He would attach our sleds to his team of horses and sleigh and pull us around the yard or while feeding cows.
-Laci
He can’t sleep without all of his little pillows
He loves to watch John Wayne movies
One of his pet-peeves is scratched C.D.’s
He loves movie theater popcorn and often asks for someone to go buy some for him
He always has to have is water jug filled.

He has a nickname for most everyone. Sometimes when I’m referring to someone, I have to stop and think of their real name before my Dad’s nickname for them comes out.
He always finds a way to get his truck stuck. One winter when I was helping him in Amalga, he got his truck stuck in a ditch by a pond. When the guy came the next day to pull him out, he blamed me and said it was his teenage daughter who was still learning how to drive.
He has a huge collection of Christmas books. I always loved when he'd read them to all us kids every night before Christmas.
-Bekka
He likes to set a new "record" each year to see how long he can go into winter without turning the heater on. Last year we made it to Thanksgiving. This year he informed me that he's going to go into December before he touches the thermostat.
-Bekka
Everything I know about animals and farming, I've learned from him.
Don't play board games with him unless you're willing to bend the rules and put up with cheating.
He has his own dictionary of words he's made up over the years. It didn't take me very long to figure out they weren't real words when I'd use them around my friends and get weird looks.
He can be fast asleep on the couch and nothing will wake him up or disturb him, but as soon as you turn his TV channel, he's fully alert.
A big pet-peeve of his is when I miss his calls on my phone, but I swear every time I call his phone, it starts ringing on his nightstand.
He thinks he can go ANYWHERE on his 4-wheeler.
One of his most common quotes:
“Good thing I’m quick and agile at the same time”
He has driven his truck into the same pond more than once.
He can quote any line of “The Outlaw Josey Wales”
He is scared of anything that resembles a snake
He wants a Harley
His favorite TV show is “Sister Wives”
He knows the family tree of every cow in the herd
When you help him herd cows you better know how to translate all his hand motions and/or read his mind.
One of his favorite John Wayne quotes is: “Hurry it up! We’re burnin’ daylight!”

| The birthday boy, himself |
My dad is a jokester and a teaser. He loves to laugh and is good at making other people laugh too. He is the hardest worker I know. He is also tender-hearted. He is sentimental, patient and loving. He is brave and was the rock in our family while my mom was sick and after she has passed away. He is generous and is always willing to help others. He is spiritual and is the one I go to when I have question about church docterine. My dad gave me wonderful childhood memories and is now creating memories as a grandpa with my girls. I love him more than I can explain and I am so grateful I get to be his daughter!
